All the King's Horses is owned and operated by Dehan and Rebecca Courtney.  We are invested in the Gypsy Vanner and European Brabant breeds, seeking to breed high quality horses, promote the breeds and educate others about them.  Our focus is on well-made horses with good minds that can be used as well as bred and we pride ourselves on selling foals that are well handled and loved.  We also invest heavily in further education to continue learning how to better care for our horses and improve our farm.  We currently farm both of our family farms, located in Mercer and Harrisville, PA.

Rebecca grew up with Quarter Horses for trail riding and recreation but always loved the drafts.  When Dehan purchased his first horse in 2011 he selected a grade Percheron mare.  He taught her to ride and drive and used her for a variety of projects around the farm.  When they discovered the Gypsy Vanner breed Rebecca decided that it was time for a draft horse of her own- just a little one so that it wouldn't eat so much!  Our first Gypsy Vanner mare arrived in 2014 and was everything that we had hoped and more.  One Gypsy quickly turned into 4 and Rebecca put her Animal Science degree to work developing a breeding and horse care program.  Meanwhile, Dehan was combining his love of the woods with his passion for horses in founding Logging with Horses.  While researching horse logging he ran across the Brabant draft horse that appeared to be a natural fit for the logging work.  After much searching our first Brabant team was purchased in 2016.  When we struggled to find a stud close enough to cover the mares, Dehan decided to look for a Brabant stallion of his own.  One thing led to another and in 2017 he purchased a small 'starter herd' of Brabant mares and a stud.  From there, our passion for the breed and our herd grew.

With the growth of our herd and an interest in preserving and promoting the breeds we made the decision to invest more heavily in our breeding program.  Rebecca began taking courses through The Breeder's Assistant Reproductive Academy to learn how to ultrasound mares, collect stallions, and perform AI.  This training was invaluable for improving breeding success in our herd and we are now able to offer more foals for those interested in the breeds.  In 2019, we travelled to Europe to meet Brabant breeders and selected our first round of horses for import, another big step for our program.  In 2021, we were part of a group of breeders that worked together to found the European Brabant Registry of America in order to track, register, and promote imported Brabant horses and their offspring.  Although we don't know exactly what the future will hold we are excited about the possibilities to meet others passionate about Gypsy Vanners and European Brabants and help make others' dreams come true with a horse from All the King's Horses!
